Message from our Batch President Ricky Ko Pio :
Hello Batchmates! Please let me take this opportunity to invite you once again to our New Year get-together to be held on January 3, 2009, Saturday, at 6:00 p.m., at the residence of Vice President Caroline Ng Sy at No. 6 Jade Garden Compound, Ortigas Avenue, San Juan, Metro Manila. To accommodate our Fellow Batchmates who are holding office on January 3, 2009 and who thus may find it difficult to join an afternoon get-together, we have decided to commence our party at 6:00 p.m. instead of the 4:00 p.m. schedule as initially announced in our email dated November 7, 2008. We will be serving a delicious dinner buffet courtesy of Vice President Caroline, Asst. Treasurer Johann Tan and Fellow Officers Maribeth Ang Wong, Teresita Sy Chingkaw and Wilfred Chua, and to spice up the New Year atmosphere, we will be having a sing-along as well as a raffling of prizes donated by your Officers. The assessment fee for our New Year's Party will be P300.00 per person, the proceeds of which will go to our general fund. We will be honored if you can bring along your spouse to join the merrymaking.
Thank you and see you all on January 3, 2009! On behalf of the Judenite 82 Officers, here's wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Prosperous New Year!
Best regards,
Roderick Ko Pio

May 25, 2008 - Announcement: Report on Outreach Project last May 18, 2008 (click here for photos).
Dear Batchmates,
I am pleased to report that last May 18, 2008, we held our first outreach activity of the year at the Pastoral and Social Center Building of St. Jude Parish. From 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, a team of volunteer doctors and dentists from the Caloocan Filipino Chinese Charity Clinic (CFCCC) headed by its President, Mr. Robert Ong, performed the following services, free of charge, for the less privileged members of our parish community:
1. Tooth extractions (Number of beneficiaries: 87)
2. Provision of free reading glasses to senior citizens (Number of beneficiaries: 180)
3. Provision of free vitamins and medicines and free general check-up services (Number of beneficiaries: 340)
In all, a total of 607 patients benefitted from our combined medical and dental mission.
In grateful appreciation of the very instrumental role played by the CFCCC in the success of our outreach activity, our batch made a humble donation in the amount of P10,000.00 for the benefit of the CFCCC's charity fund. By way of Information, the CFCCC conducts free medical and dental missions every Sunday in different areas, either on its own or in cooperation with various Chinese Filipino civic and business groups. We also made a donation of P10,000.00 to the St. Jude Archdiocesan Shrine led by Rev. Roland Aquino, S.V.D., in support of our parish's ministry/social projects and in recognition of the tremendous logistical support provided by the parish to our outreach activity.
Batch 82's contributions to the outreach project, on the other hand, can be summarized as follows:
1. Provision of assistance, together with several representatives from the Catholic Women's League, in maintaining order among the patients lining up for their examinations;
2. Provision and distribution of snacks, packed lunches and bottled water for the volunteer doctors, parish personnel and barangay staff; and,
3. Distribution of rosaries to the patients/outreach beneficiaries
On a personal note, I would like to recognize and express my warmest appreciation to the following Batchmates who unselfishly lent their support and presence during the project and/or during our lunch get-together after our outreach activity at the Golden Fortune Seafood Restaurant at T.M. Kalaw St., Ermita, Manila: Dra. Lily Yugioksing Ng (who spearheaded our outreach project), Ricky Cheng, Teresita Sy Chingkaw and her husband, Alfred, Evelyn Cheng Chua, Kirby Go (whose photographs of our activity will be coming out soon), Johann Tan, Maribeth Ang Wong, Melanie Lim, Rowena Ong Siong Co Ting Keh, Catherine Lim, Jose Evangelista, Dr. Jerry Ngu, Martin Go, Ronald Lui, Stephen Liao, Jeffrey Co and Rodney Uyan. The lunch packs served during our activity were prepared by Vice President Caroline Ng Sy, while the siopao snacks were donated by Rowena Ong Siong Co Ting Keh. Our bottled water came from the kindness of Johann Tan, while the rosaries which were distributed during this project were donated by Olivia Lee Ang.
To all of you who generously and wholeheartedly supported our medical and dental mission, thank you very, very much!
Best regards,
Roderick Ko Pio

April 25, 2008 - Update - Message from our Batch President Ricky Ko Pio
Dear Batchmates,
Further to my previous announcements on our planned outreach project, we are pleased to advise that we will be holding a free medical and dental mission (limited to tooth extraction only) on May 18, 2008, Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Pastoral and Social Center Building (formerly our Nursery Building) of St. Jude Parish. Through the kind efforts of Dra. Lily Yugioksing Ng who is also spearheading our medical mission, we have invited the Caloocan Filipino Chinese Charity Clinic (CFCCC) to provide a team of around 35 volunteer doctors as well as the medicines and equipment needed for this activity. Our batch will provide the lunch and snacks for the volunteer doctors and the parish staff involved in this project while the St. Jude Parish Office will be in charge of mobilizing the patients for this activity. While our main target beneficiaries are the less privileged members of our parish community, please feel free to send your household helps and/or workers to also avail of the free medical and dental services on the said project date as we would like as many people as possible to benefit from this project. For those batchmates who might be interested to assist during the medical/dental checkups, please contact Fellow Officer Ricky Cheng (cellphone no. 0917 3239348) or Fellow Officer Wilfred Chua (cellphone no. 0917 5374383) to register your interest in this activity.

Ms. Anuran just barely missed the 1.75 cutoff which is the GWA score needed for her to attain Cum Laude Honors. Ms. Anuran did us proud and deserves our warmest congratulations and best wishes.
We would also like to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude to one of our batchmates (who also wishes to remain anonymous) for donating the amount of Php50,000.00 for the benefit of Msgr. Charles Tchou's medical fund. With respect to our Silver Anniversary Reunion Video, we are pleased to advise that we are ready to take orders for the same at a fee of Php250.00 per disc. Out of the said Php250.00 fee, the amount of Php200.00, which will be remitted to the video producer, represents the actual price of the video disc , while the amount of Php50.00 will be credited to our batch fund for fundraising purposes. For those who would like a copy of our reunion video, please place your orders with Secretary Kirby Go at gokirby@yahoo.com (please state your full name, and the number of copies) on or before May 31, 2008. To Fellow Officer Teresita Sy Chingkaw, please accept my appreciation for patiently coordinating with the video producer and for seeing this matter through.
Last, but not the least, let us give our unqualified support to Asst. January 7, 2008 - Announcement: Recap of Batch 82 Christmas party last Deceember 29, 2007
Hello everybody! On behalf of the Judenite 82 Officers, please let me take this opportunity to extend my warmest appreciation to all of you for your presence and support during our Batch Christmas party last December 29, 2007 at the residence of fellow Batch Officer Wilfred Chua. It felt great to see all of you again and to have this terrific opportunity to enjoy timeless friendships. Thank you, Wilfred and Annie, for being such gracious hosts and kudos to Melanie Lim and Teresita Sy Chingkaw for the wonderful job you did in organizing our Christmas party.
By way of a recap, I would like to share with you the following announcements which were made during our Christmas party:
1. Batch Directory - We began distribution of our updated Batch Directory during our Christmas party. The printing of our Batch Directory was done courtesy of Asst. Treasurer Johann Tan from data supplied/arranged by Eunice Cobankiat Pascual and Sec. Kirby Go. For fellow batchmates who have not yet received their copy of our updated Batch Directory, we will make the same available for distribution during our future gatherings; you may also contact Teresita Sy Chingkaw, Melanie Lim or Susan Lao as to how you may pick up/receive your copy of the Batch Directory.
2. Silver Anniversary Reunion Video - We have not yet finalized our Silver Anniversary Reunion Video as we are still in the process of implementing editing ideas with the producer of our reunion video. Further developments on our reunion video will be relayed to you as they arise.
3. Outreach Project - By way of celebrating the Chinese New Year, we will be holding a medical mission sometime in February 2008 at our Alma Mater's Pastoral and Social Center Building (formerly our Nursery Building) for the benefit of the less privileged members of the St. Jude Parish community. Dra. Lily Yugioksing Ng has kindly volunteered her time to organize and spearhead our medical mission, the details of which will be announced in due time.
4. Financial Report - The amount of funds (Philippine pesos) turned over to us by the immediate past Judenite 82 Officers led by President Katherine Ang Chuabio amounted to P760,650.69, broken down as follows:
a. P147,980.00 - representing the balance of our Batch Scholarship Fund
b. P612,670.69 - representing the balance of our General Fund. To maximize the interest earnings on our General Fund, we made an investment last November 9, 2007 in P500,000.00 (face value) worth of Fixed Rate Treasury Notes (FXTNs) Series 3-13 issued by the Philippine Government. The said FXTNs will mature on February 17, 2009 and has a coupon rate of 6.80% (net) payable semi-annually every February 17 and August 17. Our total investment outlay last November 9, 2007 is as follows:
Face value of FXTNs : P500,000.00
Add: Premium : 12,647.72
Accrued interest (Aug. 17, 2007 to Nov. 9, 2007): 7,744.45
------------------
Total investment outlay : P520,392.17
Taking into account the premium we have to pay to acquire the FXTNs and the time value of money, the yield to maturity of our investment in FXTNs is around 4.72% (net).
We also have two U.S. dollar time deposits (both maturing on March 31, 2008) in the following amounts:
a. U.S.$2,935.50 - representing U.S. dollar contributions to our Silver Anniversary Reunion
b. U.S.$2,211.10 - representing U.S. dollar donations to our Batch Scholarship Fund
For your reference, all of our funds are currently maintained at the T. Alonzo Business Center of Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation.
By way of closing, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to my fellow Officers all of whom have generously shared their time and resources in the course of successfully implementing our plans and activities. I feel very honored to be surrounded by a group of hardworking, professional and responsible individuals whose common goal is to serve our school and our batch in the best way that we can. I take my hat off too to President Katherine Ang Chuabio and her Team of Officers for organizing our very successful Silver Anniversary Homecoming and for initiating a very worthy scholarship project. Last, but not the least, I would like to personally thank and recognize Dennis Sy for his initiative in organizing and managing our e-mail group and batch website which have been, and continue to be, very vital communication tools for the successful implementation of our batch activities.
Thank you very much and here's wishing each and every one of you a very prosperous 2008!
Best regards,
